Barry joined Brentwood Associates in 2017. With nearly two decades of location intelligence experience, he is constantly developing the art and science of expansion modeling. Barry has assisted numerous retail and restaurant concepts with complex planning, developing targeted, specific growth strategies and solutions, grounded in customized and proprietary analytics.
Most recently, Barry founded Bergemont in 2015, a boutique consultancy firm that specializes in location science and strategy, providing predictive and proactive expansion strategies to emerging, high-growth, multi-unit retail and restaurant brands.
Prior to founding Bergemont, Barry held the role of Vice President of Strategic Planning at Zoës Kitchen (NYSE: ZOES), where he developed custom analytics solutions, acting as a lens for all expansion decisions as the company grew over 100 locations and had an IPO in April 2014. Previously with Potbelly Sandwich Shop (NASDAQ: PBPB) , Barry implemented sales projection models and expansion strategies, establishing the infrastructure for growth that led to rapid growth of that concept as well.
Barry holds a B.S. in Geography and G.I.S. certificate from Oklahoma State University.
Members of the Operations Group are non-investment professionals or independent contractors employed or retained to provide operational diligence services for prospective and consummated investments and post-closing operational initiatives for portfolio companies. Operations Group members are either employees of BPE Growth & Operations, LLC, an affiliate of Brentwood Private Equity, LLC, or independent contractors.
