Drew Nations joined Brentwood Associates in 2022. He is a 15 year cybersecurity and information technology professional with significant experience in secure technology architectures, data privacy initiatives, a wide variety of regulatory compliance programs and security and information technology process design best practices. He works closely with Brentwood’s portfolio companies to develop, implement, and monitor their cybersecurity and compliance programs, assists in developing their roadmaps to achieve necessary security and compliance milestones, and partners with Brentwood’s investment team to assist with technical diligence initiatives related to architecture, security, and data privacy and policies.
Prior to joining Brentwood, Drew served as Executive Director for cybersecurity programs at Avint, a cybersecurity and physical security consulting firm based in Herndon, VA. Much of Drew’s experience lies in government initiatives for institutions such as the US Navy and the Department of Homeland Security.
Drew is a graduate of the US Naval Academy where he earned his bachelor’s in History. In recent years, Drew earned his Master of Science in Project Management from George Washington University and a Specialization Certificate in Data Science from Johns Hopkins University.
