Economy not too hot and not too cold

The economy is “not so hot there’s inflation risk and not so cold that the economy is in danger of a recession,” a sort of Goldilocks period, reports Vicki Young in her Women’s Wear Daily article “Bright Spots Seen in U.S. Economy.”  

With the economy in a middle ground, private equity firms are raising bigger funds and doing more deals.

“It doesn’t look like there’s anything bad on the horizon, which helps the deal market,” says Bill Barnum, a Brentwood Associates partner. He foresees a robust year for M&A deal activity.
