More exits in 2014 than new deals

“It is definitely a seller’s market,” Brentwood Associates partner Bill Barnum told Private Equity Analyst. U.S. private equity firms posted a record year in 2014, making 448 exits with a total value of $175.28 billion, compared with 344 exits and $125.04 billion for all of 2013.

“[Brentwood] will exit a couple of its investments in the next year, too, and in general, the marketplace will continue to be very active,” says Barnum.
