J.McLaughlin has a new limited-edition cashmere collection to kickoff its partnership with The Everglades Foundation, a Florida-based nonprofit that is committed to restoring and protecting America’s Everglades.
Since its founding in 1993, The Everglades Foundation has become a respected advocate for the sustainability of one of the world’s most unique ecosystems. Extending from the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes, south of Orlando, down to Florida Bay and the Florida Keys, the Everglades makes up the majority of state’s iconic landscape. In fact, nearly eight million Floridians rely on America’s Everglades for their drinking water.
“We’re thrilled to partner with The Everglades Foundation and help support its important mission,” said Kevin McLaughlin, co-founder and creative director. “With over 20 locations in Florida, J.McLaughlin truly considers Florida our second home. Being a good neighbor is essential to our company ethos and we can’t think of a better way to help keep Florida beautiful than by supporting an organization that is committed to preserving Florida’s natural beauty.”
The cashmere collection is available for purchase in select J.McLaughlin Florida stores as well as online at J.McLaughlin.com. This special collection will be featured in J.McLaughlin’s Winter Resort Catalog and 20 percent of the sweater proceeds will benefit The Everglades Foundation. The sweaters for women and girls are classic long sleeve cashmere crewnecks in a palette of neutrals and pastels, each featuring a different sea-life graphic.
J.McLaughlin has a Vero Beach store in The Village Shops, 6174 N. State Road A1A.
“As we celebrate our 25th anniversary and the start of the new year, we are proud to partner with J.McLaughlin,” said Eric Eikenberg, CEO of The Everglades Foundation. “It’s always inspiring to see a good corporate citizen stand up for this national treasure. With J.McLaughlin’s support, we will be able expand the K-12 Everglades Literacy program throughout the state, and continue to inspire the next generation of conservationists.”
J.McLaughlin and The Everglades Foundation will partner on a series of in-store events throughout Florida to raise awareness and funds to support the Foundation. For more information, please visit www.JMclaughlin.com/EvergladesFoundation or EvergladesFoundation.org/Partners.
J.McLaughlin was founded by two brothers, Kevin and Jay McLaughlin, in 1977. Their goal was to create a new American sportswear brand based in New York and built on several basic concepts: classic clothes with current relevance, sold in a friendly retail environment that has a neighborhood feel. With over 100 retail locations, J.McLaughlin occupies some of the most picturesque main-street real estate in America.
True to the vision of the McLaughlin brothers, the stores have a warmly residential feel and exemplary customer service. “Being a good neighbor” is central to the brand’s approach to business, and J.McLaughlin values being a welcome and active member of each community in which it operates. The company also operates a fully responsive digital flagship at http://www.jmclaughlin.com/. The company is headquartered in Brooklyn, New York.
